Moshe Safdie is an established architect, urban planner, educator, theorist and author who champions socially responsible design.

During his highly regarded 50-year career he has completed a range of projects including cultural, educational, civic, neighbourhoods and public parks, housing, mixed-use, airports and city master plans. These projects are located across North and South America, the Middle East, and throughout Asia.

After studying at McGill University, he established his own firm in 1964 to realise Habitat ‘67, an adaptation of his undergraduate thesis and a turning point in modern architecture.

Moshe has received many awards, honorary degrees and civil honors, These include the Companion of the Order of Canada, the Gold Medal from both the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the American Institute of Architects, the National Design Award for Lifetime Achievement by the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian, and recently the Wolf Prize in Architecture.
