Alicja Prussakowska's Tilia is a freestanding piece of furniture designed for flexible use within the hallway of a family home, and resembles a white box with a collection of thin wooden skis upended into one side.
Curved hooks at the ends of the lengths of pine are arranged at different heights to hold coats and accessories.

The white lacquered medium-density fibreboard (MDF) base offers storage space for shoes and somewhere to sit while putting them on.

"My goal was to design an object that was both useful and visually attractive," Prussakowska told Dezeen.

"I noticed a correlation in the shape of a bending grass and ergonomic and friendly shaped objects on which you can hang something. This detail highlights the beauty and nobility of the wood and the value of traditional craft."

Each length of pine was shaped using traditional wood-bending techniques, with the hooks hand-cut into one end using a chisel.

The base is made from four sections of lacquered MDF, held together with milled pine connectors at each corner.

Matching lathed hoops in the top and bottom sections provide a hole to support the pine strips.
