Standard Studio designs minimal interior for Antwerp glasses store
For its latest store, eyewear brand Ace & Tate enlisted the help of Standard Studio, which created a clean and stripped-back space complete with a colourful artwork.
The Ace & Tate Antwerp store is located in a vibrant part of the city, adjacent to the popular Kloosterstraat antiques store.

The facade of the building is covered in green ivy and features a small terrace where shoppers can sit and relax.
Inside, natural light floods through the building's large windows, reflecting off strategically placed mirrors and white-painted walls.

Towards the rear of the shop is a "hangout" space, where customers can sit and rest on a pink sofa or go outside to an adjoining courtyard.
A wide, floor-to-ceiling window frames this outdoor space and allows light through to the basement level below.

While the ground floor is a dedicated retail space, the studio dedicated the entire basement to practical services and appointment rooms. A double-height wall by the staircase features vibrant artwork by artist Jordy van den Nieuwendijk.

A slim custom-made cabinet keeps appliances out of sight, while a neon sign brings colour to the otherwise white space.

This is Ace & Tate's third physical store. The two previous outposts were designed by Occult Studio, which added a peg-hole shelving system to the Amsterdam shop and based the Utrecht store on minimal exhibition spaces.

Other eyewear stores include a Montreal shop by La Shed Architecture that is divided into black and white areas and a Seattle optometrist by local firm Best Practice Architecture featuring a steel-framed enclosure shaped like a house.
