Dezeen Showroom: British-Nigerian designer Yinka Ilori collaborated with material brand Momentum Textiles and Wallcovering on a collection showcasing his signature use of pattern and colour.

The Yinka Ilori collection marks the designer's first foray into commercial textiles and wallcoverings and draws on common themes in his work, including his dual heritage and belief in the positive impact of joy.

"My collaboration with Momentum is a testament to the power of happiness created by strong community and storytelling," said designer Yinka Ilori. "Together, we aim to transform commercial spaces into playful, creative hubs that inspire, uplift and even heal."

The collection includes three wallcovering patterns and five textile patterns, each of which come in a range of colour combinations ranging from bright to pastel to neutral.

The designs include such patterns as Shower Me With Flowers, a floral motif pared down to simple elements, and Rhythms Surround You, a dancing configuration of arches, circles, chevrons and triangles.

Momentum Textiles and Wallcovering suggests they be used in settings such as offices, restaurants and healthcare facilities to bring joy and playfulness to everyday life.
